Alison and Carly opened the doors to The Mount Hair Salon with a vision for a salon that would be different to others, with quality hairdressing and a luxurious customer service being a top priority for all clients.

Alison's passion was fuelled by a successful career in the hair industry that would take her from Taunton, Somerset to a celebrity salon in London's West End. A talented stylist, she has worked in many different areas of hairdressing including television and photographic work, and for salon brand Paul Mitchell. Ali was keen to bring her experience home to the South West and realise her dream of opening her own salon.

Carly, Ali's business partner and sister has followed a different path. A non hairdresser, she has a Bsc business degree that led to a career in management where she developed the passion for customer care that is fundamental to The Mount Hair Salon.

Within the surrounds of our beautiful Georgian building, the Mount Hair Salon opened on 1st March 2004. Starting with a team of just 3, we have developed since those early days by listening to our clients likes and dislikes about visiting the hairdressers to create a relaxing atmosphere where they can trust us to create a style they will love. In November 2008 we added our luxurious beauty rooms to the salon.

We are a member of 365 Day Hairdressing, the prestigious training group whose members raise creative and professional standards by treating clients as individuals, offering them a designer haircut with a home maintenance programme. We are also a member of the National Hairdressers Federation.

In 2009 we were delighted to be voted Business of the Year by all our customers with the Wellington Weekly newspaper.

Our welcoming team will take the time to listen to your needs to give you a look that you will love combined with individually tailored advice to help you recreate your style at home. As an NVQ accredited training centre, many of our stylists are 'home grown', gaining their qualifications in house and developing extremely high skills in a complete range of hairdressing services. With specialists in areas such as colouring, long hair and hair up, we are proud to work with our team of passionate people who strive to be the best at what they do.
